Data Centre Uganda Limited

Sustainability

Efficiency designed in, not claimed after.

East Africa's digital future shouldn't cost the Earth. We're building with the conviction that world-class and sustainable are the same standard.

Design-stage strategy — performance reported once operational

Our approach

Energy, cooling and efficiency — decided at the design stage.

No generic claims: these are the choices guiding the design, and the measures we intend to be held to.

Strategy

Energy strategy

Uganda's electricity comes largely from hydropower. We plan to source power that makes the most of that renewable mix, and to plan for additional clean supply as the facility grows.

Approach

Cooling approach

Cooling chosen for Uganda's climate and for the heat of high-density hardware — favouring approaches that limit both energy and water consumption.

Goal

Efficiency goals

Efficiency measured, not asserted: targets set against recognised metrics such as power usage effectiveness (PUE) and water usage effectiveness (WUE), reported once operational.

The advantage

Few places on the planet combine abundant renewable energy with a rising digital economy the way Uganda does. That combination is our advantage — and our responsibility.

Our commitments

Sustainability, by design.

01

Renewable at heart

Uganda is blessed with extraordinary renewable energy potential — led by hydropower. Our ambition is infrastructure powered overwhelmingly by clean energy, making the region one of the most compelling places on Earth to run sustainable compute.

02

Efficiency as a discipline

The greenest energy is the energy never wasted. Efficient cooling philosophy, intelligent design, and disciplined operations are core to how we think — not an afterthought.

03

Water-conscious design

Cooling choices matter in every climate. We design with respect for local water resources, favouring approaches that minimise consumption.

04

Community alongside compute

A data centre should lift its neighbourhood: skills, jobs, education, and digital opportunity for the communities around us. Local hiring and capability-building are part of the plan, not a press release.

Shared ambition

Sustainability partnerships welcome.

Renewable energy providers, efficiency specialists and community partners — let's talk.
